Excess skin and stubborn fat on your upper arms can make you feel self-conscious about your appearance. An arm lift, also known as brachioplasty, addresses sagging skin, excess fat, loose tissue, and reduced arm definition. At Evolve Plastic Surgery, our skilled surgeons personalize your procedure to create smoother, firmer, and more sculpted upper arms.

Reveal More Sculpted, Defined Arms

An arm lift (brachioplasty) is a procedure that removes excess skin and fat from the upper arms to create a smoother, firmer, and more defined appearance. Aging, significant weight loss, and genetics can contribute to sagging skin that doesn’t respond to diet or exercise. Brachioplasty addresses these concerns by reshaping the tissue between your underarm and elbow.

During the procedure, your surgeon makes carefully planned incisions to remove excess skin and, when appropriate, stubborn fat deposits through liposuction. The remaining skin is then tightened and repositioned to create balanced arm contours. At Evolve Plastic Surgery, we customize your arm lift based on your anatomy, aesthetic goals, and degree of skin laxity.

Arm Lift Treats:

  • Loose, sagging skin on the upper arms
  • Excess upper arm fat deposits
  • Reduced upper arm definition
  • Stretched skin following significant weight loss
  • Age-related skin laxity and drooping tissue
  • Uneven or disproportionate upper arm contours

Your Arm Lift Journey: Before, During, and After

Before Arm Lift

Your journey begins with a consultation. Your surgeon evaluates your upper arms, discusses your aesthetic goals, reviews your medical history, and develops a customized surgical plan. You’ll receive detailed preparation guidelines, including instructions on medications, smoking cessation, required evaluations, and transportation and postoperative support to help ensure a smooth surgical experience.

During Arm Lift

Your arm lift is typically performed under general anesthesia. Your surgeon makes carefully planned incisions along the inner or back portion of your upper arms, depending on the extent of correction needed. Excess skin is removed, and liposuction may be used to eliminate stubborn fat deposits. Your surgeon then tightens and reshapes the underlying tissues, repositions the remaining skin, and closes the incisions with sutures to create smoother, firmer contours.

After Arm Lift

After your arm lift, you may experience temporary swelling, bruising, soreness, and tightness around your upper arms. You’ll receive instructions for incision care, compression garments, activity restrictions, and follow-up appointments. Most patients can resume light daily activities within one to two weeks, although strenuous exercise and heavy lifting require additional time. Swelling gradually subsides over several weeks, and your scars continue to mature as your newly sculpted contours become visible.

Benefits of Arm Lift:

  • Removes excess, sagging skin from the upper arms
  • Creates smoother, firmer, and more defined arm contours
  • Reduces stubborn fat deposits when combined with liposuction
  • Improves upper arm proportions and overall body symmetry
  • Addresses loose skin that cannot be corrected through exercise
  • Enhances confidence when wearing sleeveless or fitted clothing
